William Carson was born in Tacoma, WA in 1987. He was introduced to glassblowing by a friend at Hilltop Artists in Tacoma, where William was immediately attracted to the teamwork aspects and the intensity the medium brought with it.
He continued to work with glass in a vessel oriented and sculptural was, while studying under glass artist Patricia Davidson. He then furthered his education in the arts at Illinois State University, where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in glass art. At the University he studied under glass artists John Miller and became fascinated with large-scale sculpture.
William (Billy) is now an artist here at Tacoma Glassblowing Studio, focusing on commercial glass art installations, fine art and blown glass drinking cups. He also wonderfully gifted at teaching classes at TGS.
